Gluecifer - Live at Teatergarasjen Bergen, Norway 01 May 2004

Live boots from Gluecifer are not exactly commonplace.. A few have surfaced here and there... The best source is Andy Sensible on the Guitars101 forum. Here is some quick artwork made from the video available here. Get the recording in 320 here.

The Birdhouse - The Devil Looks After His Own:(A BLack Lodge Relics Compilation): expanded artwork

I had wanted to do this for quite a while (actually, as soon as I spotted this beauty on Nik's blog!) for several reasons: 1 - I'm a huge fan of the Birdhouse. At the time, a new record from them truly was an event. 2 - All my vinyl records are out of reach. 3 - I thought they were pretty original among the large number of Stooges-influenced bands, the guitar tones, in particular. 4 - I always thought The Birdhouse  rightfully deserved  recognition, which they sadly never actually did. So, in short, kudos to Nik for this great compilation of their first mini LP Burnin' Up and album Meglamania. Get it here now while you still can!

Another one has gone: R.I.P. Gord Lewis.

I've just learnt from Nik's excellent blog Black Lodge Relics the dreadful news: legendary Teenage Head's guitarist and founding member Gord Lewis has left this world under tragic cicumstances. Thank you for everything, Gord. You are and will be sorely missed.

This video is a modest tribute to this great guitarist...

Thee Hypnotics: Signing Session at Gibert Joseph, Paris 2018 - 09 - 19

To pay tribute to the excellent record connoisseur Phil Marie mentionned in the previous post, here are some pictures from this memorable event. Yes, he's the guy in the B.O.C. t-shirt, so that gives you a hint about his musical tastes...

Original poster for the signing session

Thee Hypnotics Live at Le Petit Bain Paris, France Wed 19 Sep 2018

Righteously Recharged European Tour 2018: Paris. Three decent quality videos (here, here and here) put together and converted. On the whole, quite a good show with all musicians in great shape. I wasn't able to find an official poster for this very date so I transformed the one which advertised a signing session at an excellent Parisian record shop - which alas closed down on March 19, 2021 - where the extraordinarily competent and knowlegeable Phil Marie used to work... Not merely a record seller but what is called a professional  disquaire in French... PS: If you want a copy of the soundfile, drop me a line, as I won't even bother posting it on guitar 101...

Thee Hypnotics Reformation European Tour 2018 Live Boots

Considering the paucity - that 's quite an understatement - of live boots by Thee Hypnotics, I have decided to make my own using the best possible live videos available. Of course, I know that it's utterly frown upon practice - another understatement - yet I am left with no other choice... A few days before it became official news, here is what I had posted on my FB page:

Maybe I should pray even harder that some live boots from that tour will surface... Meanwhile, I am going to post what I've been working on these past few days...

In the pipes: Rose Tattoo - O2 Institute 2, Birmingham, UK 2022-07-26

Rose Tattoo La Cigale, Paris, France 9 July 2022

I'm a huge fan of the Tatts. Their re-scheduled European Tour is finally happening after a few tribulations: that particular story  left me shocked at first, and then relieved, shortly after. Not much info can be found about the tour, apart from the Tatts official FB page, very useful for concert pictures and updates. Even the Rose Tattoo Fan Page hasn't been updated since the 25 & 26 February gigs in Melbourne! This great blog is a good source of live pictures and reviews for concerts in Paris. It doesn't hurt either to stay informed about the tour dates: here. A few live videos from the Paris and Birmingham gigs have surfaced on YouTube, but I still don't know why Paul DeMarco - who was replaced by a certain Lars - hasn't been able to play the Bimingham gig. Does anybody know? In the meantime, grab this recording here, and let's pray that more live shows from this European tour will appear soon.
