In progress: The New Christs Live at the Bald Faced Stag, Sydney, NSW, Australia 14 May 2013

This is an impeccable and incendiary set by the New Christs. The sound is very good, Rob is in great shape and the musicianship is absolutely stunning, particularly the complementarity between guitarists Dave Kettley and Brent Williams. Considering the relative scarcity of live material by the New Christs, we shouldn’t be too fussy. Of course, I know that videos converted to sound files are frown upon by some, but here my ears tell me that there’s nothing wrong with the sound quality. Anyway, try and grab the video there.

Deniz Tek Group featuring Rob Younger Live at The Sando, Newtown, NSW, Australia 26 02 12

The Sandringham Hotel, better known as The Sando was a pub that hosted many live music concerts. The Deniz Tek Group played there in 2012. Well worth noting is the presence of Rob Younger as guest vocalist on tracks 6, 7, 12 and 13, rock and roll veteran of the Australian music scene Andy Newman is nothing short of impressive on bass and backing vocals, just like jazz drummer Calvin Welch. Grab the video there, from which the photos illustrating this bootleg are taken.

Dan Baird and Homemade Sin 10 .04. 19 Headliners Music Hall, Louisville, KY

A bootleg recording made from a YouTube video that you can grab there. Worth mentioning is track 7, Golden Light, from the Georgia Satellites' first album and rarely played live then and afterwards.

In progress: The Heart of the Georgia Satellites Live at the Underground during the Crossroads Festival 2003 Westdeutscher Rundfunk TV Broadcast 2003-08-28 Köln, Germany

Just today I posted a few pictures extracted from this TV broadcast and this is the first comment that I got:" What... Georgia Satellites? Where...? These guys? Seriously? ". In all good faith, it must be specified that the - slightly misleading - title says 'The Heart of the Georgia Satellites', possibly because not only Dan Baird and Mauro Magellan are in it, but also Keith Christopher who started the band as 'Keith and the Satellites'. In addition to this, Rick Richards was in a band called the Brains... That said, many bootleggers do not entirely agree about what to label this recording: Georgia Satellites?  Or more accurately 75% of them? Dan Baird and friends? I don't find the title "The Heart of the Georgia Satellites" that bad, after all... I have done some research about the Crossroads Festival and I have found this.

Dan Baird and Homemade Sin - Live at Livestock 2008 Bovina NY

Livestock? Bovina? Those were enough to trigger my search for western fonts and  livestock head. Here's the tray card. Here is my own homemade artwork for this great recording, available here.

In progress: True Believers Live at Kessler Theater, Dallas, TX October 11, 2013

A mythical band! As someone wrote: "the greatest rock band most rock fans have never heard of". There are a few excellent audio quality live recordings by True Believers to be had for free here. This one comes from there and can be downloaded here.

Dr Feelgood Live at the Mont -de-Marsan Festival, Aug 10, 1984

A project more dormant than in progress; for months I was going nowhere, after several unconvincing try outs. I wanted to use Graham Humphreys' fabulous illustration for the Doctors Orders album but not exactly how... Oh, just in case you are not familiar with Graham Humphreys' work, take a look at his website. He is the man behind the Off The Bone cover, the cover illustration for the Lords of the New Church's first LP, and many, many more. I thought it was the right thing to do - after all, the 1984 tour was to promote this new album to come - but I had mixed feelings about the voodoo creepy fonts used in this artwork... Although I realized that he had made the Dr Feelgood logo himself, I tried to find a font that looked similar enough. I went for something called Karloff. I was much luckier with the font for the tracks, which is called Monsterama, just in case you want to know. Little by little things started to take shape. Though I am not entirely satisfied with this, it's not too shabby on the whole... You can grab the (sound only) video there. Oh, I know it's corny but I can't often resist clicking on the 'invert color' tab!

Georgia Satellites June 23, 1987 Blossom Music Center Cuyahoga Falls (Cleveland), Ohio The Rock and Roll Caravan

More Satellites artwork! Well, we can't have enough, can we? This time, it is some alternative artwork for a good quality audience recording, to be found on a most extraordinary blog named WickPicked Productions. Monty has done a great deal of recording work, usually available in FLAC or WAV. Go and check his blog, it's well-worth a visit: great stuff is expecting you. You can grab this recording there. There is some artwork available with the recording, but I tried to improve things a bit with my classic style. Enjoy!

The Gun Club Live at Le Transbordeur Lyon/Villeurbanne November 17, 1990

Second bootleg cover for the Gun Club, this time for another of the innumerable  excellent quality recordings by Jean-Olivier Païssé for Zap FM in Lyon. I only used the Bourbon Whiskey font for this one and some pictures extracted from the video of the concert. You can grab the video there.

ROSE TATTOO La Laiterie, Strasbourg France - 2018–06-14 Blood Brothers 2018 European Tour

My first attempt at a Tatts boot cover. I managed to find a few live pictures of the gig in question and a few ads for this tour. I tried to emulate the font used on the original Blood Brothers artwork. Grab the FLAC recording here.

Iggy and The Stooges - Raw Power 1997 Mix Private Remaster

This is a homemade cover for a third mix of the album Raw Power. Much better than both the Bowie and the Iggy mixes. It is just mindblowing ...
